NEW MOON IN PISCES – Self-care and trusting in Divine Order (February 23, 2020)

Astrology-New-Moon-Full-MoonIn the Pacific Time Zone, the New Moon will occur at 7:31 a.m. on Sunday, February 23.  This New Moon finds the Moon and Sun in conjunction (0°) at 5° of Pisces.  To further clarify how this New Moon will impact you on a personal level, locate 5° of Pisces in your birth/natal chart.  The issues associated with that house are going to be most influenced by this New Moon’s presence.

Due to back-to-back deadlines hitting at the same time, I’m unable to write my usual Moon Update this time.  In fact, this may be because of the Pisces New Moon.  Pisces often communicates more effectively non-verbally, which can make writing (or talking) challenging.  But given that Mercury is conjunct (0°) both the Sun and Moon in Pisces and given Mercury is currently in retrograde, it is likely that intuitive communication with your higher self, angels, guides, and even deceased loved ones will be more effective right now than outward communication.

Interestingly, there may be another facet to shortening this Moon Update.  The lower expression of Piscean energy is self-sacrifice and martyrdom.  This New Moon is an opportunity for all of us to choose to explore the higher expressions of Pisces, including compassion for self and others.  This author (i.e., me!) too often veers in the direction of self-sacrifice for the good of others; therefore, I am doing my best to re-frame this as an opportunity to serve as a good role model for the importance of self-care.

One final note:  This New Moon is in a sweet, supportive sextile (60°) to Mars in Capricorn, and Mars is also aspecting several other planets during this time (e.g., Mercury, Uranus, Neptune).  This may be a time when we need to understand the importance of compassionately setting short-term boundaries (with ourselves and others).  Mars’s presence will also help us protect our resources in the long-run.  However, with unpredictable Uranus and nebulous Neptune both involved, we may need to expect the unexpected and trust in the Divine.  The good news is that Mars is located in grounded Cap, which means that we will be provided with an extra dose of the courage and self-confidence to take the actions we need to take and to know that we can handle whatever comes up.

So, here’s to all of us trusting in ourselves and in the Divine.  I truly hope everything is back to “normal” in time for the next Moon Update!
