Astrology-New-Moon-Full-MoonIn the Pacific Time Zone, the New Moon will occur at 2:28 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24.  This New Moon finds the Moon and Sun in conjunction (0°) at 5° of Aries.  To further clarify how this New Moon will impact you on a personal level, locate 5° of Aries in your birth/natal chart.  The issues associated with that house are going to be most influenced by this New Moon’s presence.

My sincere apologies for this delayed Moon Update and for its uber brevity.  However, given what we are all dealing with right now, I don’t think I need to explain how complicated life has become for many of us.  I wish I had time to determine what astrological influences might be involved right now, but there are many astrologers debating this right now.  I leave it in their capable hands.

But true to Aries energy, I was determined to take action and get you at least this brief summary of today’s New Moon in Aries, which has already been influencing us for the last three days and will continue to do so for the next three.  New Moons always provide us with new starts in the energies associated with the sign involved.  But the Aries New Moon is “special” because it’s considered the beginning of a new astrological year.  This New Moon is often associated with powerful new beginnings in our lives, and we all are experiencing a plethora of new beginnings in our individual lives and collective understanding.

Any New Moon provides us with an opportunity to set new goals and intentions in the sign involved.  It often asks us to “step up” and make choices between the higher and lower expressions of the sign.  With Aries, the higher expression includes being independent, enthusiastic, direct, energetic, and confident.  There’s also a fun-loving side to Aries, and it loves to initiate new things.  The lower expression of the sign of the ram can be competitiveness, impulsivity, and even aggressiveness.  We need to make a conscious effort not to slip into the lower expression of Aries’s energy, especially when under stress or feeling fearful.

There is definitely an intensity to the Aries energy, and I think all of us would agree that this COVID-19 public health crisis is definitely intense!  Many of us are dealing with disruptions in our social and financial lives, and there’s also an intensity to the political reactions to what the world is experiencing.  This powerful energy can feel pretty overwhelming at times.  We all need to remember to take a breath, especially when we are getting overwhelmed, overworked, overly emotional, etc.  JUST BREATHE!

Aries, which is ruled by Mars, helps bring us added courage.  It’s a warrior energy, and I think we would all agree that humanity is “at war” with COVID-19!  How incredibly well-timed this Aries New Moon is!  Many of us are dealing with fears that we never dreamed we’d have to deal with during our lifetime (e.g., physical & financial safety).  Thank goodness this is an Aries New Moon because even though some of us feel the fear, it will help us to take action anyway.  It is a direct and forthright energy that doesn’t easily take “no” for an answer.  This means that it may help us see solutions in areas in which we’ve been feeling stuck or confused.

We definitely need to stay active right now.  The best use of all this energy would be to focus on creating new structures and foundations in our lives.  These may be temporary or permanent changes, but they should be something with tangible results.  This is partly due to the energy provided by the Aries New Moon, but it’s also due to the very strong influence of 3 powerful planets in grounded, responsible, structure-focused Capricorn (i.e., Mars, Jupiter, Pluto).  These planets are extremely close to each other right now (i.e., all 3 fall within about 2°).  They form an astrological configuration called a stellium.  They are bringing incredible Cap energy into our lives around the time of the New Moon.  We must all take responsible actions.  There are serious lessons to be learned; we can ignore them and make matters worse or we can turn and face them head on.

The present is important, but so is the future.  This is being highlighted right now by Saturn’s movement out of Capricorn and into Aquarius on Saturday, March 21.  It takes Saturn about 2.5 years to travel through each sign, so this change is significant.  Saturn is about taking responsible, concrete actions to build something.  Aquarius is about group and humanitarian efforts.  Where Capricorn focuses on the past, Aquarius focuses on the future.  It is important now for us to focus on what we want to create in the future for all of us . . . after this pandemic is over.

I personally believe that by using the principles of the Law of Attraction, we can influence what the future will be like.  I don’t believe that astrology can predict the future or that the future is completely fated.  I do believe astrology shows possibilities and that we can influence outcomes based on our thoughts, energy, and feelings.  This is where the Law of Attraction meets astrology.  We need to visualize ourselves, especially with Saturn newly in forward-thinking Aquarius.  We need to see ourselves after this pandemic is behind us . . . as happy, healthy, financially prosperous, and enjoying the company of our family and friends.  If you feel guided to do so, you can also visualize a world that has learned important lessons from the challenges we are facing as a species.  Remember, any Aries New Moon is often associated with new beginnings.  What do we want that new beginning to be?  And remember, positive thinking is associated with stronger immune systems, so this approach is a win-win.

Overall, this New Moon in Aries is providing us with the energy and courage we need to face the challenges that many of us are encountering.  With Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto in Capricorn, it may be a serious time; but if we choose to do so, we are ready to take responsible actions (Mars), be optimistic (Jupiter), and take concrete steps toward changing, transforming, and healing (Pluto).  Healing is definitely highlighted right now because Chiron (the healer) is in a very tight conjunct (0°) to both the Sun and the Moon.  Given all are in movement-oriented Aries, we may see swift actions taken toward individual and collective health.  Let’s all visual that!  And remember, we will get through this . . . TOGETHER!

NOTE:  If you haven’t had a chance to view my Facebook Live event from Thursday, March 19, I encourage you to do so.  I provide a lot of suggestions regarding how to cope with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and a guided meditation to help us feel more centered and grounded.  I also have a new blog post that provides a directions for Reiki healings and prayers.
