What is Anne’s background in astrology?

Western astrology is Anne’s passion. She has been studying this fascinating topic since the mid-1970’s and has provided professional readings for well over 30 years. For over 20 years, she has written her very popular New and Full Moon Updates, and she has been teaching multi-part astrology courses since 2002.

What is Anne’s theoretical approach to astrology?

Dr. Anne’s approach to astrology draws on her diverse background and is, therefore, very eclectic:

  • Choice Center Astrology: Anne is aligned with choice centered astrology (e.g., Donna Cunningham, Gail Fairfield). This philosophical approach believes that a chart doesn’t determine our fate. Instead, our lives are determined by our conscious and unconscious choices. This means we can change our life at any time based on the decisions we make. Astrological charts help us compassionately understand which areas of our life may be easier or harder to change, but change is always possible.
    • NOTE: This approach is very aligned with the Law of Attraction, which Anne has taught for many years.
  • Psychological Astrologer: Due to her background as a Psychologist, Dr. Anne’s astrological readings always focus on helping us understand and accept ourselves and others. She takes information from our chart and blends it with her psychological training and experience in order to help us live happier lives.
  • Psychic Astrologer: Anne has come to understand that each natal chart provides insights into the life script that we each wrote before our soul reincarnating into this lifetime. It can tell us about what our life mission might be, who we have the potential to become, what challenges we may encounter along the way, what gifts we bring with us from past lives to support our efforts, and much more! Also, Anne always allows all of her astrology readings to be guided by Spirit. Her guides and her client’s guide often see the big picture and communicate to her what is most important to explore within a chart.

NOTE:  Although Anne will always share any psychic or mediumship messages that she receives, please understand that astrology readings are not meant to be psychic or mediumship readings.

Types of astrological readings available

Anne is currently offering two types of VIRTUAL readings. All readings are conducted using Zoom. (NOTE: Either scroll down or click on the link below to read more about each type of reading.)

  • Anne is currently NOT offering the following types of astrological readings: progressions, solar arcs, relationship/composite charts, electional astrology, chart rectification, Chinese astrology, or Vedic readings.

Is EXACT birth time required?

Yes, EXACT birth time is very important.

Anne practices Western Astrology. In order to create an accurate chart, you MUST be able to provide the EXACT date, EXACT place, and EXACT time of birth. 

In fact, a birth time that is off by even 1 minute can produce a radically different chart. This is why the accuracy of any astrological reading cannot be assured unless all of the birth information is accurate, including birth time.

NOTE: If you do not know your EXACT birth time, please contact us at Anne@AnneReith.com. There is an advanced astrological method called chart rectification that can be used to try and determine your birth time.

PLEASE READ: Important information about Zoom and recording sessions

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Your astrological reading will be recorded using Zoom. This technology:
    • Allows Anne to share her computer screen with you so you both can view your chart.
    • Allows Anne to use her mouse to point to areas of your chart as she discusses it.
    • Provides both you and Anne with the ability to record the appointment in both audio and video formats. (NOTE: See below for more information about recordings of the session.)
  • Directions for how to use Zoom and log in information will be sent via email on the morning of your appointment.
    • If you are nervous about using Zoom, it’s actually very easy! To enter the meeting, all you’ll need to do is click on the link and enter the passcode that we send you.
  • Because Zoom will be used, this means that you MUST be at a computer (or a viable alternative).
    • Please understand that without visual access to what Anne is discussing, it is very likely you will find the information difficult to understand.
    • During the reading, you can choose to have your camera turned on or off. Although she loves seeing people’s faces, only Anne and your chart(s) need to be seen when you review the recording.
    • However, you will need to turn on your microphone. Anne’s astrological readings are always very interactive, and she will be asking you questions. Also, you will need to turn on your microphone in order to ask questions about what Anne is sharing.
  • You will be provided with written directions and verbally guided through the process of recording your reading on your computer using Zoom. This actually is quite easy to do. The recordings will include (a) an audio recording and (b) a video recording.
  • Additionally, within 48 hours after your reading (Pacific Time), we will send you the same recordings. If, for some reason, your recording didn’t work, the recordings provided by us will serve as back-up.
    • IMPORTANT ACKNOWLEDGMENT: Because Anne will be recording your session, your payment for the session will serve as your legal agreement for Anne to record the meeting.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • A great deal of information will be covered during your astrology reading. There is no way you will remember it all. This is why (a) Dr. Anne wants to make sure you have recordings of your reading and (b) she urges everyone to carefully save their recordings. Each time you review it, you will hear and/or see new things and gain new insights.
  • Make sure you safely store working versions of your recordings on (a) your computer and (b) on a reliable back-up system (e.g., an external hard drive, Dropbox).
  • We will ONLY keep copies of your recordings for 2 WEEKS, after which time they will be deleted. Therefore, if you need to have us re-send the recordings to you, you will only have 2 weeks to request that we resend you our versions.

YOUR RECORDING IS NOT 100% GUARANTEED – HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN DO!

  • Between your recordings and the recordings made by Anne, it is very likely that you will have working recordings available to you.
  • However, if you rely solely on the recording made by us, we cannot be responsible for technical difficulties. If we were unable to create a viable recording, Anne will NOT be responsible for re-recording your reading.
  • If you are concerned, then we recommend that you use one or more alternative methods to record the reading. Here are a few suggestions:
    • VIDEO RECORDING: If you have a tripod (or an equivalent), you can use your smart phone or a video camera to record your computer screen as Anne explains your chart. Be sure your device is (a) close enough to the computer to pick up on the audio portion of the reading and (b) fully charged or plugged in during the recording.
    • AUDIO ONLY: You can use Voice Memo on your computer/tablet or on your smart phone. Be sure your device is (a) close enough to the computer to pick up on the audio portion of the reading and (b) fully charged or plugged in during the recording. (NOTE: This option will NOT provide you with any visual input, which means that information will likely be lost.)
    • IMPORTANT NOTE: If you use equipment or a form of technology to record the session, please make sure in advance that you understand how the technology works so it does not take away from the time and focus of the session.

The recordings you receive from Anne or any recording you make of the reading is protected under copyright laws.

IMPORTANT ACKNOWLEDGMENT: Once you have paid for your reading, it is understood that you acknowledge and agree that any manner of recording shall be intended for your personal use only and may not be reproduced or distributed for profit, public presentation, or for any media without Anne’s written permission.

Natal chart readings

DESCRIPTION

Your natal chart (AKA birth chart) is created using your EXACT date, time, and place of birth. (NOTE: Click here for more about the importance of EXACT birth time.)

This birth chart is like a map. It shows the location of all the planets and stars in the sky at the moment of your birth. It applies to your entire life.

The chart is divided into 12 areas (AKA houses). If planets are located in these houses, this tells you about what type of energy you might be expressing in that area of your life. Additionally, the angular relationships between the planets (AKA aspects) provide insights into whether there will be an easy or not-so-easy flow of energy between the planets in different areas of your life.

Natal (AKA birth) chart readings often provide you with insights that are healing, transformational, and life-changing. Anne’s goal is to empower you to live your best life, while also adding healthy doses of self-compassion and self-acceptance to your spiritual journey.

Here are just a few of the things that a natal chart reading can provide:

Natal Chart Readings are 60-90 minutes in length. They include the following:

  • 1-2 hours of prep time by Anne reviewing your chart(s) and preparing for the reading.

    • Directions for logging into Zoom, including the link and passcode.
    • PDF versions of your chart(s).
    • PDF versions of handouts providing interpretative information.
  • Your natal chart reading typically includes the following:
    • Explanation of astrology and the structure of your astrological chart.
    • Interpretive information about all the planets, signs, and houses in your chart.
    • Exploration of any special characteristics within your chart (e.g., aspects, planetary configurations, planetary patterns).

Solar return chart readings (including significant upcoming planetary transits)

DESCRIPTION

Solar return charts are a great birthday gift to yourself (or someone else)! Astrologically, your birthday represents the beginning of a new year.

Your solar return chart is created when the Sun returns to the same location in the sky as when you were born. In order to create this chart, Anne will use (a) the EXACT day and time of your birth, (b) the current year, and (c) your current location.

As is true with a natal chart, a solar return chart shows the location of all the planets and stars in the sky. Although the Sun will always be in the same position, all of the other planets will be in different locations and, therefore, exert different influences in your life.

This chart provides insights and guidance regarding the same issues mentioned above in the section on natal chart readings (e.g., where you may experience good fortune, where you may experience challenges). It’s like getting a whole new chart that represents the possibilities for the upcoming year.

In addition to reviewing your solar return chart, Anne will also let you know about upcoming transits by the outer planets (i.e., Jupiter through Pluto). This usually includes:

  • The current and upcoming location of transiting Jupiter and Saturn in your birth chart.
  • Whether any of the other outer planets (e.g., Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) are changing houses or crossing important points in your natal chart.

PREREQUISITE

Because your solar return chart is based on your natal chart, you must have had a previous natal chart reading with Anne.

WHEN TO SCHEDULE YOUR SOLAR RETURN READING

Most astrologers believe that the effects of your solar return chart begin to slowly “ramp up” about 3 months before your birthday. However, many people choose to schedule their solar return chart reading closer to their actual birthday.
