NEW MOON IN PISCES-Learn how to master your “on-off switch” (February 21, 2012)
This month’s New Moon, which is at its peak on Tuesday, February 21, finds both the Moon and Sun in conjunction (0°) at 3° of Pisces. To further clarify how this New Moon will impact you on a personal level, locate 3° of Pisces in your birth/natal chart. The issues associated with that house are going to be the most affected by this New Moon’s presence.
Each New Moon provides us with a chance for a new emotional cycle. It’s a time to reset our goals and intentions within the sign and house that are involved. Pisces is about compassion, emotions, spirituality, intuition, faith, and healing, especially healing any tendencies to take a victim role in our lives. The downside of Pisces is that if we look outside ourselves for the “cause” rather than looking inward, then we can fall prey to addictions, illusions, obsessions, and distractions of all kinds. We need to recognize that it is our beliefs, choices, and consciousness that create our experience of reality.
As the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces represents a return to Source/Oneness. As we traveled through the other 11 signs, we have seen the world through everyone’s eyes. We are now being asked to see the world through the eyes of compassion and to understand that everything that happens is either love or a call for love.
A New Moon in Pisces is all about learning how to flow with and be connected to Spirit, however we define it. This is a time when our energy systems become incredibly sensitive. It’s a good time to either have an energy healer cleanse your aura/chakras or learn how to do it yourself. It is also recommended that you limit our exposure to toxic environments/people, while also engaging in activities that raise your vibrational rates, such as meditation or taking intuitive or healing arts classes. Our auras filter out energetic toxins that surround us, and our chakras are storehouses of energy. “Energetic hygiene” helps keep all of these systems functioning effectively.
We all have a wonderful opportunity at this time to develop our psychic senses. Our five earthly senses only perceive about 97% of the electromagnetic spectrum. Piscean energy asks us to look beyond what our physical senses can perceive. We are being asked to transcend our physical experience. The root “trans” means to “go across,” “pass through,” and “reach the other side.” So we are being called to connect with other dimensions in profound ways!
We are entering a time in humanity’s history when we need to learn how to not just recognize our ability to perceive what exists in other dimensions but also to learn how to manage these skills. Yes, we want to learn how to use these abilities “on demand” rather than not having access to them. But we also need to learn how to turn them off when we need to in order to avoid being overwhelmed or distracted by Source energy/information at unexpected moments. If you are reading this message, then your soul has chosen to be here in this dimensional state called “Earth.” Therefore, being connected with Source energy 100% of the time isn’t part of your life script; additionally, spending the majority of your time connected to Source energy could poses a variety of problems (e.g., going to work, paying bills, and doing the laundry are all part of living on the Earth plane). We need to find the “on & off switch” of our intuitive abilities, and become the “master” of positions will help us live more effectively on the Earth plane.
And unlike other New Moons in Pisces, this one occurs when the Sun is conjunct (0°) Neptune (exact on Sunday, February 19), which is the ruler of Pisces. This conjunction hasn’t happened in more than 150 years! When the Sun and Neptune come together like this at the same time of a New Moon, it magnifies the mystical and magical qualities of the New Moon. We are being invited to connect with otherworldly dimensions. Spiritual awakening and creativity will flow freely from Divine sources during this time. Intuition and imagination are heightened, and some people can achieve deep meditative states. Additionally, the Moon forms a sextile (60°) to Jupiter in Taurus, which provides a valuable dose of strategic thinking that enables us to turn our dreams into reality.
On Thursday, February 23, Mercury opposes (180°) Mars. This aspect requires that we find a balance between the mind and action, and this can actually help sharpen minds and enliven discussion. But just be forewarned that it can also result in arguments. This is a particular concern when the Moon moves into Aries hours later. This Moon in Aries means that many of us will need to control our impulses for the remainder of the day. However, it may also be a time when we see fresh starts, innovation involving new ideas, and increased self-reliance.
On Friday, February 24, the Sun starts off the day with a visionary sextile (60°) to Jupiter. This can help lift us above the fray of immediate issues, increase our self-confidence, and reduce stress. Later in the day, the Sun conjoins (0°) Chiron, which offers us a special opportunity to resolve long-standing issues. It reminds us that healing often involves acceptance, forgiveness, and gratitude, both for ourselves and for others.
Finally, on Monday, February 27, a sextile (60°) between the Sun and Pluto helps us cut through any clutter and get to the heart of the matter. This favorable aspect between the compassion of the Piscean Sun and the precision and depth of Pluto can also help us address complex emotional issues.
Overall, the 28 days (February 19-March 19) when the Sun travels through the watery sign of Pisces is often the most spiritual month of the year. First, having the Sun conjunct (0°) Neptune and then having the New Moon in Pisces several days later emphasizes that this is a very magical and mystical time when we can all connect with Spirit in new and exciting ways. Profound insights are possible, as is the potential for healing deep wounds. Seek out new ways to connect with Spirit and with your intuitive senses because we are all being asked to “Live your life like a prayer” (David R. Hawkins).
