FULL MOON IN VIRGO- Clear out the clutter in preparation for big things (March 16, 2014)

Astrology New Moon Full MoonIn the Pacific Time Zone (PST), the Moon will be full at 10:08 a.m. on Sunday, March 16.  With this Full Moon, the Sun in Pisces will be in opposition (180°) to the Moon in Virgo.  To further clarify how this Full Moon will impact you on a personal level, locate 27° of Pisces and 27° of Virgo in your birth/natal chart.  The issues associated with those two houses are going to be most impacted by this Full Moon’s presence.

This Full Moon can be viewed as a gift from the Universe . . . a time to catch our breath and regain our footing before the winds of change and transformation begin to pick up speed again with the upcoming Equinox (March 20) and the New Moon in Aries (March 30).  The astrologer Kathy Rose refers to this Full Moon in Virgo as the Feng Shui Moon.  You may feel strangely drawn to cleaning up physical areas of your life (e.g., office, files, garage).  It is also a good time to look at your diet and health to see what needs to be cleaned up there, too.  Overall, use the energy of this Full Moon in Virgo to clear out any clutter in your life so you are ready to move forward when the time comes.

As with all Full Moons, this Full Moon in Virgo is asking us to find a balance between the qualities of the two signs involved:  Virgo and Pisces.  Virgo’s spiritual task is to move from servitude to service and from judgment to discernment.  The lower expression of Virgo’s energy is guilt, shame, and workaholism.  Pisces, on the other hand, has as its spiritual goal the move from separateness to the realization of unity, divinity, and connection with all beings.  Its shadow side is helplessness, victimization, and martyrdom.  As with all Full Moons, our free will choices determine if we will choose the higher or lower expressions of the signs involved.  And remember, addressing the needs of both signs is important now.  For example, you might want to ask yourself, “Where do I need to be more discerning?” (Virgo) and “Where do I need to be more accepting?” (Pisces).

This Full Moon is also asking us to find a balance between reason, science, the physical world, Earth, and our heads (Virgo) and our intuition, mysticism, metaphysics, Heaven, and our hearts (Pisces).  How this plays out with each person will vary.  One possibility is that we become increasingly aware of the gap between our reality (Virgo) and our expectations (Pisces).  Although this can lead to becoming discouraged, if we can find a way to flow with this energy, we may experience powerful intuitive insights that help us find a way to bridge this gap and make big dreams come true.

The Virgo Moon provides us with the emotional willingness to work hard to achieve our goals, and the Pisces Sun helps us to clarify our higher purpose.  But again, balance is essential.  Enterprise without inspiration is exhausting (too much Virgo), but it is equally detrimental to live a life of impossible dreams (too much Pisces).  Another productive use of this Virgo New Moon’s energy is to find a balance between Virgo’s pragmatism and Pisces’s imagination.  For example, we could find ways to “chunk down” big dreams into manageable pieces.  Virgo’s adeptness at mastering minor details may be the key to reaching Pisces’s highest aspirations.

The day after the Full Moon (Monday, March 17), Mercury moves out of forward thinking Aquarius and into dreamy Pisces.  This could intensify our desire to see the world as we want it to be rather than how it is.  On the other hand, Mercury in Pisces can provide inspiration and intuitive insights.  Given this is occurring while Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto are in an ongoing cardinal t-square, these insights may lead to personal (and societal) breakthroughs.

The next day (Tuesday, March 18), a sweet sextile (60°) between Venus and Uranus will support us in being open to the unusual and the unconventional.  We may find we are more receptive to unfamiliar people, places, and concepts.  Pleasure (Venus) may come from unexpected sources (Uranus).  It is likely that we will find it very easy today to treat others with equality and respect, and group activities may be particularly pleasurable.

A fleeting but delightful water grand trine (equilateral triangle) is formed on Wednesday, March 19 between the Moon in Scorpio, Jupiter in Cancer, and both Mercury and Neptune in Pisces.  Communication of all kinds will very likely be filled with compassion and optimism.  Words of comfort and intuition will flow easily.  This is a good day to lead with your heart!

Then on Thursday, March 20, the Sun enters Aries.  This is referred to as the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere (Fall Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere), and it is considered by astrologers to be the beginning of a new astrological year.  Aries is a cardinal fire sign, which means that issues of independence and the desire to take action will move into the forefront of our lives.  The pace of life begins to pick up for the next 30 days, and we may feel a craving for physical activity, new habits, and fresh ideas.

However, just a little caution regarding the actions we take at this time:  The ruler of Aries is Mars, and it is currently moving through Libra and is in retrograde until Tuesday, May 20.  This means that part of the “action” we need to take will involve thinking through our plans carefully.  We need to make sure that what we want to create is going to provide us with what we really want.  This is especially true if the actions we want to take include others (Libra).  The Aries Sun may feel like a green light for taking a big leap (and it is), but the best possible outcome will come when we take the time to set our goals carefully, build a firm foundation upon which to create our dreams, and get people on board first.

A very special day occurs on Saturday, March 22.  An exact conjunction (0°) between Mercury and Neptune will make for a day filled with visions and ideas that can either confuse or inspire us.  Yes, if we are involved in something that requires precise attention to detail, we may find this a frustrating day.  However, if we flow with this marvelous energy and let our minds wonder; we may find ourselves exploring new spiritual territory, diving into creative pursuits, and having compassion for everyone we meet.  This is also a day that will support us in making very strong connections with our angels, guides, and deceased loved ones.  Just be aware that our communication on the Earth plane may be unclear, vague, or downright confusing, so wait until tomorrow to engage in important negotiations or sign contracts.

Then on Wednesday, March 26, Mercury moves into a trine (120°) with Jupiter.  This is a creative connection between the planets of the lower mind (Mercury) and upper mind (Jupiter).  Both are in water signs, which will facilitate intuition and encourage caring conversations.  Delicate issues can be discussed with sensitivity.  This is also a good day for short trips, writing, teaching, studying, interviewing, advertising, and submitting applications/forms.  Our observations will be very accurate today.

Overall, this Full Moon in Virgo is asking us to determine what we specifically need in reaching for our dreams.  If we effectively use the detailed approach of Virgo and clear out any clutter in our lives, then we can move forward on projects that are inspired by our Divine connection.  The movement of the Sun into Aries may feel like we are being pushed to move forward, but many different aspects indicate that we need to go slow and think through changes, especially those that involve others.  And all of this is happening at the time of the ongoing t-square between Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto, which means that we are being asked to move from fear to faith, from judgment to acceptance, and from the love of power to the power of love.  As stated by Stephanie Austin, “When we feel crazy, when the world seems to have gone insane, when there seems nowhere to turn, we only have to look inside our own hearts to find what is true, what matters, and what can never be taken away.”
